State of Ransomware: Invest now or pay later

Findings from a CyberRisk Alliance Research Study

Ransomware attacks continue to grow, yet many organizations remain vulnerable to the exploits threat actors use. Once a cybercriminal enters a network, it is easy for them to move internally, and despite efforts to strengthen defenses, companies often lack effective detection and response capabilities.

In a survey conducted by CyberRisk Alliance’s Business Intelligence Unit, 300 cybersecurity, IT decision makers, and influencers, across various industries cited challenges and concerns associated with ransomware attacks including:

  • Fear of losing data to threat actors
  • Ransomware attacks exploiting remote workers and cloud computing
  • Ransomware payouts and budgeting for cyber defense
  • Learning from mistakes and protecting against future ransomware encounters

  • How CyberRisk Alliance Business Intelligence Unit measured how organizations keep up with ransomware trends, including their encounters, how they manage and defend against cyber risks, and their overall cyber resiliency.
  • Recommendations for how your organization can protect, defend, and remediate against ransomware attacks.
