Ransomware Ready: Organizations Fight Back with More Aggressive Strategies & Technology

Findings from a CyberRisk Alliance Business Intelligence Research Study

Ransomware attacks are on the rise and becoming increasingly sophisticated, yet many organizations remain vulnerable to these threats. If your organization is hit with a ransomware attack, you can potentially face significant consequences such as business disruption, legal/financial fines, loss of customer trust, and reputational damage.

It’s clear that there is a lot of work to be done for organizations to improve their readiness to respond to ransomware attacks and prevent business disruption.

In a survey conducted by eSentire and CyberRisk Alliance’s Business Intelligence Unit, 208 IT/Security leaders, executives, and compliance and security admin professionals shared their organizations’ current ransomware defense readiness and future plans for defending against ransomware.

Some notable findings from the survey include:

  • 47% of survey respondents believe their organization is likely to suffer a ransomware attack in the next 12 months
  • 23% of respondents reported their organization experienced one or more ransomware attacks in the past 12 months
