CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO, June 23, 2016 – eSentire, Inc., a leader in Active Threat Protection solutions, today launched eSentire Training Day, an adaptive, gamified, and fully-mobile security awareness training solution that effectively arms employees against the latest social engineering, spear-phishing attacks, and more. eSentire has provided clients with high value, face-to-face security awareness training for years, which in the right circumstances, is an effective option to increase knowledge across an organization’s employee base.
“Cyberattacks are on the rise and employees, all the way up to senior management, remain a significant vulnerability within every organization,” said J.Paul Haynes, CEO of eSentire. “Looking at the results from hundreds of phishing campaigns we conducted, across thousands of users, almost 19% either clicked or opened an attachment contained in a spear-phishing attempt. Anyone can easily fall victim to an attack if they aren’t fully up-to-date on current tactics, but much of this can be overcome with a successful training program like eSentire Training Day.”
Built on Axonify, the world’s first employee knowledge platform, used by some of the largest global enterprises (e.g. Bloomingdales, Toyota, Toys“R”Us, Walmart) today, eSentire’s cybersecurity curriculum was developed from attacks and techniques observed by the company’s frontline security analysts. The cloud-based solution is accessible from anywhere, with an engaging mobile experience compatible with most smartphones, and on the desktop.
Other cybersecurity training providers offer ineffective, “one and done” basic curriculums with simple analytics that do not recognize differing skill sets among learners, or the time-strapped modern worker. With microlearning at its foundation, eSentire Training Day directly addresses the issues with traditional approaches for cybersecurity training, ensuring employees retain the knowledge they gain by exposing them to topics multiple times a week instead of just once. This enables companies to focus on improving knowledge for all employees, regardless of existing knowledge gaps, an individual’s preferred learning pace or location.
eSentire Training Day is provided online and in small bursts to ensure it isn’t disruptive to employees’ daily tasks. Each session lasts 3-5 minutes, allowing individuals to learn at their own pace. Employees “pass” the module after answering a number of questions correctly. Additionally, the solution keeps employees engaged through gamification, rewarding them for outstanding results.
In addition to tracking traditional metrics – like participation, grades, and progress – eSentire Training Day’s focus on sustained knowledge gives it the unique ability to measure knowledge improvements across the organization, with the ability to drill down to an individual employee.
“Today’s employees are inherently busy and have different knowledge bases and skill sets, which is why traditional online cybersecurity training solutions don’t cut it,” said Mark McArdle, CTO of eSentire. “eSentire Training Day recognizes and helps overcome these obstacles by tracking an employee’s existing knowledge on a topic and automatically adapting the learning experience to help them achieve mastery. This will effectively help organizations move beyond simply achieving a ‘pass’ in compliance, to an ‘A+’ on the bigger picture – improving their overall security posture.”
eSentire Training Day goes beyond compliance to deliver actual protection. Key differentiators include:
