2019 Highlights

In January 2019, eSentire announced the availability of Managed Endpoint Defense, powered by Carbon Black™, a leading provider in next-generation endpoint security delivered via the cloud.

The company announced an additional USD $47 million in funding led by majority investor Warburg Pincus and minority investors Georgian Partners and Edison Partners in March 2019. eSentire also announced a new state-of-the-art 65,000 square-foot global headquarters, located in Waterloo, Ontario.

In April 2019, eSentire announced it achieved a year-over-year global growth of 50 percent, with 40 percent growth attributed to channel bookings in 2018. The company also announced an award-winning partner program and notable industry recognition, all positioning the company for further scale, productivity and ongoing dominance in the global MDR market.

eSentire's Managed Vulnerability Service was launched in May 2019, providing customers with comprehensive risk identification and prioritization with unmatched accuracy across traditional enterprise IT assets. The service introduced new co-managed abilities to customers on a new platform in partnership with Tenable.

In July 2019, eSentire was included as a Representative Vendor in Gartner’s 2019 Market Guide for Managed Detection and Response Services. According to Gartner, market demand for MDR services continues to climb and expects that “by 2024, 40% of midsize enterprises will use MDR as their only managed security service.” This prediction of growth is underscored by the fact that “Gartner observed a 35% growth in inquiries on the topic over the last 12 months and estimates the market grew 15% year over year to approximately $500 million in 2018.”

Two new patents from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) were secured by the company in September 2019. These latest patents further demonstrate eSentire’s innovation in detecting and responding to relevant threats in the modern digital landscape with the ever-increasing scale of distributed data and an expanding threat surface.
